NEW YORK--()--Sarah Shepard has been promoted to Business Wire’s Director of Sales for the New York region, Northeast Regional Vice President Richard DeLeo announced today.

Shepard is a 16-year veteran of the financial communications/investor relations/public relations industry and has been with Business Wire since 2005.

Shepard is a member of National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and participates in several other national and local industry groups, such as the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Publicity Club of New York (PCNY), Social Media Club (SMC) and the Entertainment Publicists Professional Society (EPPS).
Recently, she was part of the Business Wire team that developed, coordinated and taught a series of professional development Webinars focusing on social media practices and press release optimization tips for communications and marketing professionals. The Webinar series won an award from the Society for New Communications Research.
Prior to joining Business Wire, Sarah spent 12 years in the financial communications and investor relations industry. She was a Vice President of ROI Group Associates, Inc., an investor relations firm. Earlier in her career, she was a Managing Director in the investor relations department of KCSA Public Relations Worldwide, a leading integrated investor relations, public relations and marketing agency.
An alumnus of C.W. Post, Long Island University, Shepard lives in New York with her husband, Robert, and their son, Jacob.
