SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency technologies that accelerate the deployment and enable the management of next generation networks, today announced a major software upgrade for its widely deployed SyncServer® S200/S250/S250i Network Time Servers. Version 1.22 highlights new features, including security hardening and customer suggested improvements for better usability and functionality through the enhanced web interface. The SyncServer S200/S250/S250i are high-performance, enterprise class GPS network time servers that support the expanding technological requirements of large enterprises and protect the integrity of valuable records with accurate, reliable and secure time.
“Based on a wide range of customer feedback, many enhancements are now visible in various areas of the web interface including new pages, expanded features and better controls that improve the overall quality and performance of this industry-leading network time server.”
“In working with leading corporations, the widely used S200/S250 NTP network time servers were exposed to extensive security vulnerability testing and user interface evaluations,” commented Paul Skoog, product marketing manager for Symmetricom. “Based on a wide range of customer feedback, many enhancements are now visible in various areas of the web interface including new pages, expanded features and better controls that improve the overall quality and performance of this industry-leading network time server.”
Specifically, v1.22 adds the ability to fine tune standard NTP behaviors to accommodate special network timing requirements. Enhanced security has also been incorporated where users can better adjust the operation of HTTPS and SSH protocols. Additionally, the most current and trusted software builds for any open source software used in the next-generation SyncServer S300/S350 network time servers are included.
Additionally, v1.22 offers an improved holdover user interface that now includes a more intuitive graphical interface as well as more information to help configure the right max drift error limit or time delay. Underlying holdover algorithms have also been optimized for accuracy. NTP can now be used as the reference source to discipline the TCXO, OCXO or Rubidium Oscillator for further redundancy, fallback and steering of the S250 timing outputs.
The new software v1.22 will be available on April 1, 2009.
