AUSTIN, Texas--()--Kershner Trading Group (www.kershnertrading.com), (Kershner) a leading proprietary trading and technology firm, announced today that John Miller has been hired to oversee the expansion of Insight Trading and Technology, a business that Kershner acquired in 2007.
“John has created success after success throughout his career. We needed someone, who had all the skills necessary to develop products and services around this trading technology. We are excited to add a leader of John’s caliber to the team.”
Insight’s core product is a powerful stock scanning tool that is used by thousands of professional traders. After using the company’s technology for years, Kershner decided to acquire the company to preserve its use internally among its hundreds of proprietary traders as well as look at ways to develop products and services for the financial services industry.
“The time was right to bring in a seasoned executive like John,” said Andy Kershner, the founder and CEO of Kershner. “John has created success after success throughout his career. We needed someone, who had all the skills necessary to develop products and services around this trading technology. We are excited to add a leader of John’s caliber to the team.”
Miller’s experience supports Kershner’s belief. Most recently, he was the Director of Technology for digital advertising firm Avenue A - Razorfish. At Razorfish, he led the technology development for the largest accounts (Fortune 50) and was a facilitator in a multi-billion dollar acquisition by Microsoft. Prior to that Miller served 25 years with IBM as a software development manager, business development executive and as a senior executive with IBM's Software Group. He was instrumental in IBM's acquisition and integration of Lotus, Tivoli and Rational; as well as the establishment of IBM Global Services’ data center outsourcing business. Miller also has extensive experience in the financial services industry, with a past client list that includes the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, NYSE and the Nasdaq.
“I am excited about the challenge of meeting the needs of active traders, who are starved for products and services that allow them to effectively identify opportunities and even automate their trading strategies,” said Miller, who is an expert and frequent speaker on topics, such as e-business, Web 2.0, on-line collaboration (communities) and cloud computing. “The added bonus is working for a company like Kershner Trading Group, which is not only an industry leader to the outside world, but a highly ethical firm that values collaboration among its traders and employees.”
First introduced in 1983, Insight offers the ability to scan the entire US equity, futures and options markets, as well as the international and forex markets, on a tick-by-tick and quote-by-quote basis. It further allows traders to write proprietary trading filters that identify profit making opportunities, automatically. Finally, Insight can completely automate a trader’s strategies, managing trade entries and exits based on defined logic.
