Global Knowledge Offers New Nortel Communication Server 1000 6.0 Training Course

CARY, N.C.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Global Knowledge today announced the availability of Communication Server 1000 6.0 Architecture and Upgrades Boot Camp, a five-day Nortel Communication Server (CS) 1000 6.0 training course where students will get an introduction to the CS 1000 Unified Communications Management and Common Services (UCM CS) architecture and its features. Through demonstrations, hands-on labs, and classroom discussions, students will learn about the minimum hardware and software requirements to support UCM CS features and services, and they will cover maintenance and troubleshooting and perform an upgrade to CS 1000 Release 6.0.

Students will learn about CS 1000 hardware and software components and installation procedures, and they will learn to navigate UCM CS, Deployment Manager, CS 1000 Element Manager, Network Routing Service Manager, and Subscriber Manager. Students will work with CP PM Co-Resident Call and Signaling Server and learn troubleshooting tools, applications, and management functions available within the CP PM and COTS servers. Students will examine security mechanisms and applications used by the Linux-based servers, and they will learn to add administrative users in Unified Communications Manager.

This CS 1000 6.0 training course is designed for personnel responsible for implementing a UCM CS solution, with one or more CS 1000 systems, that needs to be centrally managed over a secure VoIP network environment and for personnel responsible for performing upgrades to CS 1000 Release 6.0. The course prepares students for Nortel’s Communication Server 1000 Rls. 6.0 Platform Architecture & Upgrades Exam 920-362, which is part of the Nortel Certified Support Specialist (NCSS) - Communication Server 1000 Rls. 6.0 Installation & Commissioning certification.

Incoming students should have NCSS 5.x certification as well as working knowledge of CS 1000E Release 5.0 hardware, which includes SSC, CP PIV, CP PM, COTS Servers, Media Gateway Controllers, Voice Gateway Media Cards, Signaling Servers, and IP Phones. Also, incoming students should be familiar with the 4.x and 5.x software features and should have completed a 4.x SSC to a 5.x CP IV or CP PM upgrade on CS 1000E.
