“We are very proud to have won Mobile Entertainment Forum’s 2009 Meffy Award for ‘Music Service’. This award further reinforces the preeminent, worldwide status we have achieved for our TDC PLAY music service which is developed in close partnership with 24-7 Entertainment and has paved the way for a new business model in the digital entertainment market. In addition, it is particularly an honour for TDC PLAY, coming from Denmark, a relatively small country, to have been selected in such a competitive category amongst worthy global players”, said Mikael Jensen, Head of TDC Music.
TDC PLAY’s unlimited music download service features access to 3 million tracks, dual delivery to mobile and broadband accounts, sideloading (to enable large quantities of music to be transferred efficiently via PC and then to mobile), community features such as playlist sharing and widgets for facebook and the 1st legal superdistribution service on the market to use OMA1...all, at no additional cost above the standard subscription tarriff. Since TDC PLAY is a web and wap download service, it is compatible with all PC internet browsers and all music enabled handsets, thereby enabling significant penetration into the market.
“It is a great privilege to receive the 2009 Meffy Award for ‘Music Service’. It is particularly rewarding for Co-Founder, Carl Nielsen and I to receive such a tribute and international validation of our work within the mobile music industry as our company was initially known for online distribution when founded in 2000”, said Frank Taubert, CEO and Co-Founder, 24-7 Entertainment.
