- The advanced capabilities of the Freescale i.MX515 processor help the NetWalker PC-Z1 product deliver compelling functionality for the smartbook category such as ultra-long battery life and a streamlined form factor.
- The Sharp product also includes a power management IC from Freescale designed to enable sleek form factors and extend battery life.
- Commonly powered by processors based on ARM® technology, smartbooks are connected mobile devices that combine elements of smartphones and netbooks. The Sharp NetWalker PC-Z1 incorporates the best features of a mobile phone, PC and e-book; providing low power consumption, instant-on capability and Internet browsing functionality.
- Weighing in at only 409 grams, the Sharp NetWalker delivers 10 hours of battery life between charges. It runs the Ubuntu OS, includes a full keyboard, features a five inch, 1024 x 600 LCD touchscreen display and offers fast launch functionality. The device will be initially available in Japan beginning Sept. 25, with other markets to follow in the future.
