CARY, N.C.--()--Global Knowledge has enhanced its IT Infrastructure Library™ (ITIL®) training curriculum with an ITIL in Action series, a collection of “how to” courses and free web seminars that help students take ITIL Foundation certification to the next level: ITIL implementation.
“Though every IT organization is fundamentally the same, they’re also unique and different. The ITIL in Action courses from Global Knowledge help you determine how ITIL applies to your IT organization and then how to implement it.”
Developed by Dr. Hank Marquis FBCS CITP, Global Knowledge Business Service Management Practice Leader, the ITIL in Action series includes seven workshop-style ITIL training courses. Each course targets specific components of ITIL, incorporating hands-on exercises that let students practice using the ITIL tools and techniques they’ll need to implement ITIL upon returning to work.
Marquis explained, “Though every IT organization is fundamentally the same, they’re also unique and different. The ITIL in Action courses from Global Knowledge help you determine how ITIL applies to your IT organization and then how to implement it.” Marquis added, “Adopting ITIL and then pragmatically adapting it for your unique business goals and IT situation can result in real value, fast.”
Kirsten Lora, Worldwide Product Director for ITIL Training at Global Knowledge, said, “Our ITIL in Action courses are the next step for ITIL Foundation-certified students, demonstrating how to convert theoretical processes and ideas into actual application.”
Addressing IT roles in change and release management, Service Desk management, problem management, configuration management, and service-level management, the ITIL in Action courses are:
- How to Set Up Change and Release Management
- How to Create an ITIL Service Desk and Incident Management Process
- How to Master Problem Management
- How to Build a Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- How to Build a Service Catalog
- How to Define and Value IT Services
- How to Measure and Justify IT Services
Supplementing the ITIL in Action courses is a series of free, recorded ITIL in Action web seminars. The web seminars cover the benefits and application of Business Service Management, starting your organization’s ITIL initiative, building your Service Catalog, improving change management in your IT department, setting up incident management, mastering problem management, and building a CMDB that works.
Developed for students who have taken an ITIL v2 or v3 Foundation course or have equivalent experience, the ITIL in Action courses are available in Global Knowledge classrooms, live over the Internet in virtual classrooms, and as private, on-site courses that can be tailored to the needs of your organization. The ITIL in Action web seminars are available anytime.
