Oncor Announces Executive Changes

DALLAS--()--Oncor’s independent Board of Directors announced Thursday it elected Charles Jenkins to Chief Operating Officer, reporting to Bob Shapard, Chairman and CEO. Rob Trimble, who previously was President and COO, will remain the company’s President. The move is part of the transition plan after Trimble announced his intention to retire April 1.

“At the same time, Rob will remain to help lead several key strategic initiatives.”

“There’s no way to adequately describe what Rob has meant to this organization for the past 38 years. He will remain a close friend to the Company and to many of us personally,” said Shapard.

Jenkins’ tenure with the company and many experiences through his career provides a solid foundation for his new role.

“Charles brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this post. He has led Oncor’s transmission group for more than three years and, most recently, has been in charge of the company’s billion-dollar investment in the Competitive Renewable Energy Zone construction — the largest project of its kind in the United States,” said Shapard. “At the same time, Rob will remain to help lead several key strategic initiatives.”

Since joining TXU in 1971, Jenkins has held a number of engineering, management and officer positions exposing him to a broad view of the utility industry including generation operations, control area and transmission network operations, system planning, system protection, fuel supply, energy trading, transmission asset services and distribution system operations. His most recent job responsibilities included directing transmission engineering, construction and field operations for Oncor’s 14,000 miles of transmission facilities as well as the development and support of real-time operations information technology systems for both transmission and distribution system operations. In his new role, Jenkins will be responsible for all of the company’s transmission and distribution operations. He is also active in a number of broader industry activities including serving as a director on the board of ERCOT, an advisor to the Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions and a long history of involvement with ERCOT, NERC, EEI and EPRI committees.

The change is effective immediately.
