PITTSBURGH--()--The Pittsburgh-based law firm of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. has announced that it will make a donation of up to $10,000 in support of the disaster relief efforts underway in Haiti.
“The devastation in Haiti is a tragedy that should affect us all”
This donation will be made to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund to support emergency relief and recovery efforts for those people affected by the devastating earthquake that struck on January 12. These funds will help enable the Red Cross to deploy personnel, send relief supplies, and provide financial resources where it is most needed.
The firm is collecting donations from shareholders, associates and staff, as well as sponsoring a “denim day” on Friday, January 22, to encourage as many people as possible to participate from each of its nine offices.
“The devastation in Haiti is a tragedy that should affect us all,” said Dickie McCamey Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Wiley. “The orphans who arrived here in Pittsburgh yesterday are a powerful reminder that we all have a responsibility to do whatever we can to help the people of Haiti in their hour of need. We at Dickie McCamey are honored to help.”
Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote employs more than 370 attorneys and staff.
The European Union Commission estimates that last week’s 7.0-magnitude quake killed an estimated 200,000 people in Haiti, left 250,000 injured and left 1.5 million homeless.
