Here’s how “greenlighting” works. After signing up online, GreenlightCard.com members get a set of cards. They give these Greenlight Cards to people they feel chemistry with and would like to meet. Handing the card to someone, or discreetly leaving it where a person can find it, gives the recipient the “greenlight” to get in touch. If the recipient is interested, he or she visits the website, types in the unique member number imprinted on the Greenlight Card, and the card giver’s contact information is forwarded via email, text, or both. In less than an hour, the texting, e-mailing or phone correspondence can begin between two people who already know they liked what they saw.
