FALLS CHURCH, Va.--()--Martin, Blanck & Associates, a health services consulting practice focused on federal health sector programs and services announced the addition of the Honorable Charlie Abell, as a senior partner.
Prior to joining Martin, Blanck & Associates, Abell was the Chief Executive Officer for TriServ Alliance, LLC. As a retired US Army officer, Abell understands the importance of providing superior health care to military personnel and their families. Following a 26-year career as an Army officer, he served in a variety of senior leadership positions in the Department of Defense.
Appointed by President Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2001, Abell served as principal deputy under secretary of defense for personnel and readiness, where he was responsible for personnel issues for the Total Force, to include policies and programs for service members, families, the Reserve Component and civilian personnel in the Department of Defense. His purview responsibilities included health care and other benefits for military personnel.
Following his work in the Pentagon, Abell served as staff director for the United States Senate Committee on Armed Services.

Abell entered the United States Army as an enlisted soldier and concluded his Army career as a lieutenant colonel. He served two tours in Vietnam in various positions including infantry platoon leader, company commander and cobra attack helicopter pilot.
Abell holds a Master of Science from Columbus University in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Tampa.
