BERWYN, Pa.--()--Today Modular Space Corporation (ModSpace) announced it has pledged to donate $1 million in modular buildings and portable offices to the American Red Cross to aid the millions of Haitians that were displaced by the earthquake disaster.
“We were devastated by the loss of life and destruction that occurred in Haiti”
“We were devastated by the loss of life and destruction that occurred in Haiti,” says Charles Paquin, President and CEO of ModSpace. “We have a long history of donating time and funds to the American Red Cross, and are grateful to have the resources to offer our expertise in any way that we can. Our past disaster relief work with the American Red Cross has raised over $500,000 to benefit victims of natural disasters.”
If there is a need for the materials in the American Red Cross’ disaster relief efforts, ModSpace is prepared to send emergency relief teams to Haiti to train local personnel for the installation of modular equipment and support project management.
“It is very generous of ModSpace to pledge these buildings and personnel in the event the Red Cross needs temporary space in our extensive relief efforts,” says Tom Foley, CEO of the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Chapter. “We will need space where volunteers can direct their operations, as well as facilities to store all of our equipment, and ModSpace’s modular buildings would be a perfect solution.”
ModSpace is very familiar with assisting the American Red Cross in its response to natural disasters. The company has assisted in disaster relief efforts during Hurricanes Ike, Katrina, and Rita by providing temporary modular buildings for a variety of space needs. The company continues to support rebuilding efforts in the region today with permanent modular buildings, construction offices, and portable storage.
