CARMICHAEL, Calif.--()--On April 23 – April 25, World T.E.A.M. Sports (The Exceptional Athlete Matters; www.worldteamsports.org), a nonprofit organization that uses the universal power of sports to create soul-stirring opportunities for individuals of all abilities, will be hosting its annual Face of America bicycle ride, a two-day journey from Washington D.C. to historical Gettysburg, Pa. Participants, varying from civilians to military personnel, will band together to ensure that everyone crosses the finish line. Doctors of chiropractic will be donating their time and expertise to care for all the cyclists at the end of each day to assure top conditioning.
“For the first time ever, cyclists will peddle from the front steps of the Capitol building and past several national monuments before embarking on the 110 mile trek to Gettysburg.”
“Regardless of the athletic ability of our riders, this tour is no walk in the park, and at the end of each day you will find several riders complaining of back pain and muscle aches,” states Jeff Messner, World T.E.A.M. president. “By providing participants with chiropractic adjustments, we expect to not only help ease the pain our riders may experience but also help to prevent injury, mile after mile.”
The event, considered a “ride” and not a race, was created to honor the U.S. military—injured, veterans, and active duty—and the true “America spirit.”
Messner points out, “For the first time ever, cyclists will peddle from the front steps of the Capitol building and past several national monuments before embarking on the 110 mile trek to Gettysburg.”
Entry fees range from $100 for civilians to $50 for retired and active duty military; all injured military entry fees are waived. Registration for this year’s event includes one complimentary ticket (additional tickets are $30) to all meals, Friday April 23 through Sunday April 25, plus the famous “steaks and beers with Seamus,” as well as a complimentary bus ride back to Washington, D.C.
