ST. PAUL, Minn.--()--Today at the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Annual Meeting, LiveOffice, the number-one provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS) email archiving, email compliance and email continuity solutions, announced its support for the Extensible Markup Language (XML) standard developed by EDRM. The XML standard provides a uniform format for the exchange of content and metadata between different applications, systems and organizations involved in the e-discovery process. This new functionality enables approved IT and legal personnel to seamlessly export messages from LiveOffice Discovery Archive to e-discovery solutions from Clearwell Systems, CT Summation, FTI Technology and iCONECT, which helps streamline discovery workflow, reduce labor costs and expedite the e-discovery process.
“As a founding member of the EDRM XML project, Clearwell is excited to see LiveOffice’s commitment to streamlining the data export and ingestion process for users”
“We are pleased to see LiveOffice continue to evolve its cloud-based archiving platform to better address clients’ e-discovery needs,” said George Socha, cofounder of EDRM and president of Socha Consulting LLC. “LiveOffice’s centralized archive can help users better manage their legal risk, but its new EDRM XML export functionality takes these capabilities a step further, making it easier to process e-discovery requests and alleviate concerns around chain of custody lapses.”
Discovery Archive is the leading cloud-based archiving solution for seamlessly managing message retention, enforcing corporate usage policies and applying legal holds. The solution’s new EDRM XML functionality helps with early case assessment by enabling clients to easily move their archived data from the Collection and Preservation phase to the Review and Analysis phase. LiveOffice has certified that content stored in Discovery Archive in its native format can be exported in XML format to the e-discovery vendors mentioned above, while still preserving the content’s integrity and chain of custody. Once the data is successfully ingested, clients can then conduct further review and analysis as the case progresses. This compatibility means that IT departments no longer have to spend time converting electronically stored information (ESI), such as emails and attachments, from one file format to another before transferring them from the LiveOffice archiving system to their e-discovery solution of choice.
“As a founding member of the EDRM XML project, Clearwell is excited to see LiveOffice’s commitment to streamlining the data export and ingestion process for users,” said Kurt Leafstrand, director of product management for Clearwell Systems. “Our extensive experience with the XML standard has proved to us that it can deliver significant value to any organization in the midst of an e-discovery request by helping to reduce labor costs and expedite the entire process.”
