LANGLEY, Wash.--()--The Langley Center for New Media, a subsidiary of Fusionspark Media, invites visual journalists, designers, producers, writers, and marketing and PR professionals to attend a two-day Visual Journalism Bootcamp on May 27-28 in Langley on Whidbey Island, Washington.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about trends and best practices that are shaping visual storytelling markets, explore emerging new approaches to sustainable visual journalism business practices and upgrade their multimedia storytelling skills.
Day one features presentations from industry experts including Brian Storm, founder of MediaStorm; Tom Kennedy, former director of Multimedia for WashingtonPost.com; Hanson Hosein, director of the University of Washington's Master of Communication in Digital Media; Brent Friedman, Transmedia storytelling pioneer; and many others.
On day two, Brian Storm will lead an all-day workshop on multimedia storytelling, engaging participants in discussions about tips and techniques to improve multimedia reporting and editing, and about how to use the most effective tools for specific jobs.
Attendees are invited to an evening networking reception on Thursday, May 27th at 5:00 pm at Callahan’s Firehouse Glass & Art Studio and Old World Brews & Ales Microbrewery on Second Street in Langley. Beverages and snacks will be served and, for an additional fee, guests can try glass blowing for a unique Langley experience.
