BOSTON--()--CheapToday, Inc., the online shopping network for Women and Power Moms, today announced results from its ‘Just Wondering’ program, a survey of buying behavior of CheapToday’s subscriber base across the U.S. CheapToday regularly surveys its Shopping Network members to monitor their behavior, attitudes and trends.
“How many items similar to the clothing or accessory item you are seeking to buy will you look at before you make your purchase decision?”
When asked, “How much time do you spend shopping for clothing and accessories in a given week,” 208 responses were received with 65% reporting that they spend at least 1 hour a week shopping. The responses break down as follows:
- 35% spend less than 1 hour a week shopping
- 30% spend between 1 and 3 hours a week shopping
- 24% spend between 3 and 7 hours a week shopping
- 11% spend over 7 hours a week shopping
In a follow-up survey, this question was asked in regards to Women Shoppers’ tendency to comparison shop before making their purchase decision with 74% reporting that they compare at least three similar items before buying:
“How many items similar to the clothing or accessory item you are seeking to buy will you look at before you make your purchase decision?” 291 responses were received and the results are as follows:
- 47% will look at 3 to 7 similar items before buying a particular item
- 27% will look at over 7 similar items before buying a particular item
- 26% will look at 2 or less similar items before buying a particular item
“For many Women and Power Moms, shopping tends to be more of a passion and enjoyable hobby than merely a required activity,” said Chris Hill, President & CEO of CheapToday, Inc.
