ASHBURN, Va.--()--Telos® Corporation has completed work on a task order awarded under a new blanket purchase agreement (BPA) with the U.S. General Services Administration’s Office of Governmentwide Policy (OGP).
“This approach accelerated the deployment of the application, cutting the average time from concept to operational capability by more than half.”
Under the task order, Telos performed all certification and accreditation (C&A) work for the new www.data.gov system, validating that the system met all information security requirements established by the Federal Government. The company’s services enabled rapid deployment of the application in support of a key White House initiative to increase public access to high value, machine-readable data sets generated by the Executive Branch.
According to Rob Wilson, the company’s director of Federal Civilian Information Assurance Programs, Telos’ approach enabled the fielding of the system within six weeks, which included time for both development and deployment. “We worked with our Government Services Administration (GSA) partner to establish a C&A process using a phased approach,” Wilson said. “This approach accelerated the deployment of the application, cutting the average time from concept to operational capability by more than half.”
Information security consulting services available through the BPA include all phases of system certification and accreditation (C&A), security operations and continuous monitoring, including application and database vulnerability scanning, wireless network assessments and secure configuration guidelines. Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) reporting and security policy and procedure development are also available.
