BELLEVUE, Wash.--()--City University of Seattle will hold its 35th annual commencement ceremony at Seattle’s Key Arena on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Pacific. CityU of Seattle President Lee Gorsuch will confer degrees upon more than 1800 students from around the globe who are expected to attend the North American commencement ceremony, including students traveling from Canada, Mexico, and Beijing, China.
This year’s keynote speaker is Thomas Clevinger, president/general manager – Global Parts for Navistar, a Fortune 250 multi-national company. Clevinger, a CityU graduate and a former member of CityU’s Board of Governors and current Governor Emeritus, has more than 30 years of operations, sales, marketing and leadership experience in heavy truck manufacturing, dealership, after-market parts and service support industry. Student speaker Reid Stell who is graduating with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology will join Clevinger. Stell sits on the American Mental Health Counselors Association Graduate Student Committee, and has served as Cascade Bicycle Club’s SprocketHero, teaching bike safety at elementary school assemblies, bicycle expos, and other public appearances, since 1988. He served his psychotherapy internship at the CityU Counseling Center in Bellevue and is currently pursuing counseling opportunities as a trauma specialist.
CityU expects that more than 630 family members and guests will attend commencement.
