Allianz Life President and CEO Named to IRI Board of Directors

MINNEAPOLIS--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) has named Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz) President and CEO Gary C. Bhojwani to its board of directors. The IRI is a not-for-profit organization serving as the authoritative source of all things pertaining to annuities, insured retirement strategies and retirement planning.

“Under the strategic direction of our outstanding Board of Directors, IRI has successfully helped reshape the debate on holistic retirement planning,” said IRI President and CEO Cathy Weatherford. “By expanding the Board to include the nation’s most prominent leaders, we will further position ourselves as the preeminent annuity organization.”

In April, IRI led a coalition to help educate the 77 million Baby Boomers on the need for quality retirement planning during National Retirement Planning Week. Since May of 2009, IRI has successfully messaged the one-of-a kind value proposition of insured retirement strategies to a unique audience of more than 130 million readers.

In addition to this new membership, Bhojwani also serves on the Board of Directors and the CEO Roundtable on Annuities for the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI).
