DENVER--()--The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) announced that the Colorado Technical University (CTU) surgical technology program at its Denver campus is officially recognized as CAAHEP accredited.
“This accreditation speaks to the quality of our surgical technology program and our dedication to providing our students with a career-relevant education.“”
With this accreditation, program graduates will be eligible to take the voluntary Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credentialing examination offered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
CAAHEP, the largest programmatic accreditor in the health sciences field, works with its Committees on Accreditation to accredit programs in 20 different allied health occupations. In order to be granted programmatic accreditation, CTU demonstrated that the surgical technology program at its Denver campus met all applicable CAAHEP standards.
“We are very proud to announce this new programmatic accreditation and to offer the associated benefits to our surgical technology students,” said CTU Denver campus president Dr. Mark Pieffer. “This accreditation speaks to the quality of our surgical technology program and our dedication to providing our students with a career-relevant education.“
The CTU Denver campus offers degrees in the areas of business and management, criminal justice, health sciences, engineering and computer science, and information systems and technology. CTU students can take courses on-campus, online or a combination of the two, providing flexible options that can be easily integrated into students’ busy schedules.
