BOULDER, Colo.--()--Lighthousesolar, a solar integration company, recently celebrated the grand opening of an office in Laguna Beach, California. The new location offers design and installation of solar electric and solar thermal systems throughout all of Orange County.
“Being a native to Laguna Beach, I have surfed these waters all my life. I feel that solar energy is a big part of the solution for mitigating the risk of toxic fossil fuels being released into our environment.”
Mike Sadler, the General Manager of Lighthousesolar, is no stranger to Laguna Beach. He was raised in Laguna and was a Laguna Beach Lifeguard for many years. Mike and his team are happy to contribute to the fast-growing solar energy market. “Being a native to Laguna Beach, I have surfed these waters all my life. I feel that solar energy is a big part of the solution for mitigating the risk of toxic fossil fuels being released into our environment.”
The new Laguna Beach branch is working with the local community to preserve the water and land for generations to come. They are a key member of the very well directed Surfrider Foundation, which aims to protect oceans, waves and beaches through various activities and campaigns. They are also working with Zero Trash Laguna to keep the streets and storefronts in Orange County clean. They hope these efforts create a more sustainable way of living for the residents of Southern California.
California's various incentive programs and tax credits make this region perfect for growth in the solar power industry. California Solar Initiative (CSI) is a program designed to provide more than $3 billion in incentives for solar-energy projects with the objective of providing 3,000 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity by 2016. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has extended and expanded the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) so that solar investors can recover up to 30 percent of eligible system costs.
