REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--()--Hara, a leading provider of environmental and energy management software, today announced that Reed Elsevier, a world leading publisher and information provider, has selected Hara Environmental and Energy Management (EEM) to develop a dynamic system to manage, measure and monitor its global environmental performance. The Hara EEM deployment will track emissions and environmental data from Reed Elsevier’s 32,000 employees and over 300 facilities.
“Reed Elsevier is a recognized environmental champion and it is fitting that they are Hara’s first UK headquartered customer”
In choosing Hara, Reed Elsevier was looking for a more efficient and reliable way to collect, report, and forecast environmental data, particularly in light of growing environmental regulation. After an extensive search of providers, they selected Hara’s highly-configurable, software as a service application that could quickly adapt to Reed Elsevier’s high user volume and complex data capture requirements and meet mandatory reporting schemes such as the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.
“Reed Elsevier is committed to reducing its environmental impact through proactive measures,” said Mark Gough, Reed Elsevier’s Global Environmental Manager. “Hara’s capabilities will be instrumental in helping Reed Elsevier implement our environmental reduction strategies.”
Deployed in over 90 countries, Hara EEM is designed to manage energy, resources and emissions as an enterprise-wide, end-to-end “report to reduce” business process. The company works with leading companies and government organizations to establish a verifiable, transparent and credible environmental and energy record, identify and prioritize reduction projects and leverage best practices across stakeholders.
“Reed Elsevier is a recognized environmental champion and it is fitting that they are Hara’s first UK headquartered customer,” said Amit Chatterjee, CEO and Founder, Hara. “It’s a testament to the scalability and depth of Hara EEM that a corporation the size and scope of Reed Elsevier has chosen to leverage our proven methodology around ‘Discover, Plan, Act and Innovate’ to drive reductions and minimize their environmental footprint.”
