LAS VEGAS--()--Boulder City Motocross Facility (BCMX) in Las Vegas announces its new 2011 race schedule while looking to the future for continued development on its 55-acre property. In 2011, a total of 10 races are planned thus far with continued efforts to add more significant races to the schedule.
“The facility improvements next year will include constant upgrades in the racing surface and track layouts. We will make the facility even more fan and spectator friendly while improving safety conditions with the completion of a helicopter pad”
General manager Bryce Davis reflects on the 2010 season, “The feedback and the responses from riders and attendees have been completely positive and we have seen a steady increase in participation. Every event has contributed to our goal of re-establishing local and regional support as we have our eye on national and international races.”
In creating the 2011 race schedule, Davis' decision-making process included many factors. Davis says, “When the Las Vegas Motor Speedway motocross track shut down, our sport had a void for quite some time. Many riders quit riding, participation and interest dropped.” For 2011, Davis chose races that would re-spark interest on a local and regional level which would create a solid fan and rider base in the community. Secondly, Davis chose events that would attract fans and riders on a national level.
The 2011 schedule of events is: Eldorado Valley Classic: A Desert Showdown (Feb. 12); Veteran's Motocross World Cup (Mar. 12-13); Southwest Amateur Shootout (Apr. 3-9); American Vintage National Championships (May 14-15); After Hours Night Three-Round Series (Jun. 11, Jul. 9, Aug. 13); Las Vegas Two-Stroke Pro Am National (Sept. 27-Oct. 2); TBA (Nov. 12); and 12 Hours of Las Vegas (Dec. 10).
Davis will continue to develop the facility in 2011. “The facility improvements next year will include constant upgrades in the racing surface and track layouts. We will make the facility even more fan and spectator friendly while improving safety conditions with the completion of a helicopter pad,” says Davis.
With new events, increased participation on all levels, continued facility developments, and increased national and international exposure, BCMX has opened up a new lucrative opportunity for sponsors that greatly enhances the options offered in previous years. A jewel in the desert, BCMX's prime location in the heart of Las Vegas can be seen from a distance as its bright lights shine upon the facility during the night's practices and events.
