Facebook OnSite, which builds on the Facebook Connect and ‘Like Button’ capabilities PowerReviews announced earlier this year, enables retailers and brands to combine the proven selling power of customer reviews with the reach of Facebook and the credibility of friend-to-friend recommendations.

Using Facebook OnSite, retailers and brands now have the ability to integrate their customer reviewers’ Facebook information into reviews and reviewer profiles on product pages. These innovations set themselves apart from other social tools that only allow for one-way interactions, whereby retailers can only push user-generated content to Facebook. Rather, Facebook OnSite brings the Facebook experience to the retailer/brand site, adding personality to on-site review content and reshaping the buying experience for consumers.

With Facebook OnSite, consumers also have expanded opportunities to post their reviews to Facebook. These reviews will appear on each consumer’s Facebook Wall as well as in their Friends’ newsfeeds. Reviews posted on Facebook now include a product picture, the number of stars the product received, a snippet of text from the review, and a link back to the merchant’s product page. These enhancements will further increase engagement and drive retailer traffic and conversion.
Other Facebook OnSite features now give retailers and brands the ability to:
- Group together, and show the history of, reviews written by a single Facebook user
- Offer “Comment on Facebook” links after each review on the their product page
- Post all review comments to a user’s Facebook newsfeed
