ALEXANDRIA, Va.--()--Kevin O’Connell completed his certificate in Congressional Operations from TheCapitol.Net. The Certificate in Congressional Operations is awarded to participants in the program who have completed more than 75 hours of training in congressional operations.
Kevin O’Connell is the Congressional Affairs Officer at the Institute of Museum and Library Services (“IMLS”), a position he has held since 2004.
Prior to working for IMLS, Mr. O’Connell worked for ten years in the office of U.S. Representative Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), where he held numerous positions including Communications Director and District Representative. He previously spent six years as an associate producer at a sports television company in New Jersey.
Kevin O’Connell was born and raised in the Hudson River Valley of New York State. He has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Fordham University and a master’s degree in American history from the State University of New York at Albany. Mr. O’Connell lives in Silver Spring, Maryland.
