Left Bank Writing Workshop in Paris Now Accepting Applications

JACKSON, Wyo.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Left Bank Writers Retreat, a writing workshop in Paris, France, is slated for July 2-8, 2011. Hosted by Jackson Hole-based writer Darla Worden, the workshop will focus on creative writing during the mornings and touring Paris in the afternoons.

“The retreat is designed for writers of all levels looking to use Paris as inspiration,” Worden says. “Writers will explore Paris’s deep literary roots in a salon setting while also experiencing Paris’s sights, restaurants and museums.”

Worden has written more than 100 magazine articles about art, architecture and travel over the past 20 years. Author of the book club-selected novel Road Shoes and co-author of The Rusty Parrot Cookbook (Gibbs Smith, 2009), she also writes the popular blog 60,000 Mile Ticket to Paris.

The cost of the seven-day Left Bank Writers Retreat is $2,299 and includes morning writer’s workshop sessions, coaching and one-on-one time with the instructor for a maximum of 12 writers, lunch each day, admission and transportation to museums and area sights, an excursion to Montmartre, a wine tasting and literary tour. An optional Versailles tour is offered on July 9 and an optional Paris Flea Market tour is offered on Sunday, July 10.

The writing retreat takes place on the historic Ile Saint-Louis in the heart of Paris. Writers arrange their own lodging and transportation to Paris, and can reserve a spot in the retreat with a $500 deposit and application. Special rates on lodging are available on reservations made before November 15, 2010.
