PHOENIX--()--For the fourth year in a row, Health Net of Arizona, Inc. is the top-ranked health plan in the state for its commercial HMO line of business. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) recognized Health Net of Arizona, again leading the state in terms of providing access to quality care and services in its annual Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-11.

The NCQA also has affirmed the existing “Excellent” accreditation status of Health Net of Arizona’s HMO line of business. NCQA Accreditation evaluates how well a health plan manages all parts of its delivery system in order to continuously improve health care for its members.
“NCQA’s Excellent Accreditation status is reserved for the best health plans in the nation,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, president of NCQA. “It is only awarded to those plans that meet or exceed NCQA’s rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement and deliver excellent clinical care.”
NCQA accreditation is a voluntary review process and includes on-site and off-site evaluations of over 60 standards as well as selected HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) performance measures.
