Groom’s report analyzed the burgeoning energy and carbon management software market and found that despite economic challenges across industries, the EECA software market grew 400 percent in 2010 and is expected to continue to develop in the coming year. The report recognizes Hara’s continuing market success and the impressive number of high profile customers the company brought on in 2010. Further, it lauds the company’s continued focus on energy management. Hara had previously been named an “Emerging Leader” in Groom’s 2010 market report. Hara continues to build upon its leadership position as more companies recognize the value of environmental and energy management solutions.

Leaders are identified based on the analysis of five criteria: financial strength / viability, carbon product strength / technology, number of carbon module deployments with large customers, energy management capabilities, and vision. The report cites Hara’s addition of many high profile customers throughout 2010, including the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA), Diebold, Hasbro, Intuit, Safeway and the cities of Las Vegas and Philadelphia as a key factor in their ranking. Groom also notes Hara’s $20 million in funding from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, JAFCO Ventures and Nth Power.

“Hara remains a market leader within the ever-expanding EECA market, topping our list for the second year in a row,” said Paul Baier, vice president of sustainability consulting services for Groom Energy. “With its large energy management and efficiency deals reflecting truly comprehensive capabilities to manage energy and resource utilization, Hara continues to pave the way for the development of the EECA market.”

”Hara continues to meet the growing demands of leading organizations worldwide as they examine their core business operations and take steps to become increasingly efficient, both in resource consumption and cost reduction,” said Amit Chatterjee, CEO and founder of Hara. “We are thrilled to again be included in the Groom EECA Leaders list, as this recognition is a testament to the work Hara has done to make our solution the most comprehensive and results-oriented in the industry.”
