PUERTO PLATA, Dominican Republic--()--The 463-room Cofresi Palm Beach & Spa Resort which opened just four months ago in Puerto Plata on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, has appointed Stéphane Culillas as its new general manager. Culillas, a hotel industry veteran from Switzerland whose career has been dedicated to managing hotel properties for Meliá Hotels International, Barceló Hotels and Hotasa Hotels, is excited about his new post, as well as changes and enhancements he has already implemented.
“I arrived to a beautiful hotel with lots of wonderful facilities and full of eager guests, but we didn't have certain processes and systems adjusted yet”
"I arrived to a beautiful hotel with lots of wonderful facilities and full of eager guests, but we didn't have certain processes and systems adjusted yet," Culillas explained. "My first tasks were to improve key areas of guest services such as check in, check out, making restaurant reservations, receiving service in a timely manner, and getting from one part of the sprawling resort to another."
According to Culillas, the number of guest service team members has been increased at the main entrance and behind the scenes, free WIFI has been added in the main lobby and reception area, and a customer service hotline phone has been installed in the lobby for immediate assistance.
To enhance the a la carte dinner reservation system and decrease waiting time, guests are now given dinner tickets in advance, once making a reservation. Two additional restaurants, MOONLIGHT, and JOHNNY's, have also been added to the current four restaurants on property, which includes a signature Rodizio Brazilian Churrascaria and Moomtaz, a well-received Indian restaurant. Additionally, a shuttle bus service now runs every 30 minutes to provide connectivity throughout the various areas of the resort, bringing everything closer together.
The Cofresi Palm Beach & Spa Resort features six restaurants, eight bars, an exclusive resort beach, a night club, theater, six swimming pools, one kid's pool with water slide, kid's art camp, Ying Yang Spa, wedding gazebo, tennis and basketball courts.
Cofresi Palm and neighboring Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Resort have entered a reciprocal agreement for all guests to access each resort's facilities including a multitude of restaurants, bars and entertainment venues, bringing the number of dining options to 11 with over 15 watering holes scattered throughout.
Guests and their families have a wide variety of activities available to them in the Dominican Republic's North Coast. Next door is the Ocean World Adventure Park with its daily animal and aquatic shows and casino. Other area activities include a cable car ride to the peak of Mount Isabel de Torres, white water rafting, horseback riding, deep sea fishing, boating, snorkeling, monster truck safaris and city tours of Puerto Plata.
