NEW YORK--()--Mattern & Associates, LLC (www.matternassoc.com) announces that it has completed dual open RFPs for Kaye Scholer LLP, one of the nation’s leading law firms. Prior to this engagement, Kaye Scholer had not previously deployed outsourcing as a way to help manage costs.
In December 2010, Kaye Scholer decided to explore the possibility of outsourcing mail room and photocopy services in addition to the personnel who staffed those departments. It also wanted to review its photocopy equipment contracts. At the time, the firm had two equipment platforms, multiple vendors with multiple expiration dates, and multiple maintenance agreements, some of which were on a month-to-month basis.
Through the complex RFP processes, Mattern was able to structure a solution that not only benefited the firm financially, but developed a long term strategic plan for both outsourcing personnel as well as a firm wide equipment solution for the firm's six US offices. Kaye Scholer outsourced personnel only for its New York City office location and equipment across the firm to Merrill Corporation which treated its employees respectfully similar to that of the firm. Eighty-five percent of the staff was kept on site in the New York City office and benefits such as medical were covered on day one of the transition.
The complex, dual process was managed seamlessly by Mattern’s consultants and resulted in significant monthly savings for the firm and a smooth transition for the outsourced in-house personnel.
Rob Mattern, President of Mattern & Associates, said, “We are honored to have been selected by this highly regarded firm as the first consultancy to conduct this type of outsourcing project, and are pleased by the excellent results we were able to deliver. The managerial team at Kaye Scholer is highly skilled and knowledgeable, and we hope we will have the opportunity to work with them again.”
