David Lerner Associates and Greater Long Island Running Club Hold 21st Annual Long Island Police Appreciation Run

All Proceeds from Race Donated to Police Crisis Fund

EAST MEADOW, N.Y.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--David Lerner Associates and the Greater Long Island Running Club (GLIRC) recently held the 21^st Annual David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation Run at Eisenhower Park. All proceeds from the event benefited the Police Crisis Fund, which supports families of the local law force in emergency situations.

Hundreds of runners and spectators turned out to enjoy the beautiful weather and support a worthy cause. Sal Nastasi of Massapequa Park was the first place overall male, while Shari Klarfeld of Plainview was the first female to cross the finish line.

David Lerner Associates has been a dedicated supporter of the Long Island police force throughout the last two decades. The Police Appreciation Run has raised over $300,000 for the Police Crisis Fund since its inception.

David Lerner Associates and the Police Crisis Fund Committee recently donated $2,500 to the family of Officer Thomas Iannucci to go toward hospital procedures for his 19 month old son, Logan Stryder Iannucci, who was diagnosed with bladder exstrophy at birth. An additional donation of $2,500 was made to the family of Special Agent John Capano, the ATF officer who was slain during a Seaford pharmacy robbery on New Year’s Eve.
