SAN FRANCISCO--()--Boyden, a global leader in executive search, announced today that Lori Christiansen, a seasoned expert in the life sciences industry, has joined as Managing Director in Boyden’s San Francisco office.

Ms. Christiansen will play a key role in recruitment of senior executive and functional leader roles in global companies as well as in early-stage private equity and venture-backed firms. She will serve clients out of Boyden’s San Francisco office and in partnership with other Boyden offices globally.
Ms. Christiansen has successfully placed numerous VP and C-level positions for clients in molecular diagnostics, personalised medicine, biopharma, medical devices, platform technologies, and venture capital. Her expertise includes management team development related to stage of funding and commercialisation, international executive recruiting and compensation.

Previously, Ms. Christiansen was biotech practice leader and Vice President of the biopharma practice for two retained executive search firms specialising in the life science industry. Prior to starting her career in executive search, she held executive marketing and business development positions with global life science companies, including Pharmacia Biotech (now GE Healthcare), Bio-Rad Laboratories and Kodak (BioImage).
She is co-founder and president of Woman Capital Connect, a venture dedicated to increasing the number of women in C-level and Board positions across multiple industries. She is also a member of the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Healthcare Industry Foundation (WBL), a non-profit foundation for senior executive women in the health care industry. She is actively engaged in several philanthropic ventures in the San Francisco Bay Area business community.
Ms. Christiansen received a BS in biological sciences from South Dakota State University, completed graduate work in microbiology at the University of Minnesota and attended the Executive Development program at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.
