Allianz Life Hires Tom Mundt as New Vice President of Infrastructure

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) named Tom Mundt as the new vice president of Infrastructure in the IT division. In this role, Mundt will be responsible for leading overall infrastructure strategy, including assessing hardware and software options, managing provider relationships, and providing incident management for Allianz Life. He will also serve as the key IT contact with the parent company, Allianz SE. In this role, Mundt will report to the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, Jeff Palm.

Before joining Allianz Life, Mundt was a senior executive with Accenture in Minneapolis, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, for eight years where he was responsible for the delivery of IT infrastructure outsourcing services to more than 70 North American clients. While at Accenture, he directed the IT service delivery center operations in multiple locations around the United States and managed 500 technology professionals.

Prior to his tenure at Accenture, Mundt was a senior executive for four years with Best Buy Co., Inc., where he led more than 450 IT professionals, contractors, and third-party service providers. He directed the IT engineering and infrastructure operations for both in-store and on-line retail services for the electronics retailer. Mundt also held various IT roles at American Express Financial Advisors, which is currently known as Ameriprise Financial, Inc., where he worked for 14 years.

Mundt has a Quality Assurance Director certification from Accenture and attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education program where he participated in the executive negotiation course.
