Ozmo and Haier to Introduce Wi-Fi Direct Peripherals for 2013 Smart TVs

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ozmo Devices, the leader in ultra-low power Wi-Fi Personal Area Networks (Wi-Fi PAN), today announced that global TV innovator Haier Group will develop Ozmo-based Wi-Fi direct peripherals for its new line of Smart TVs. The wireless Wi-Fi accessories for Haier’s 2013 Smart TV models will likely include a remote control, a microphone, and a variety of other innovative human interface products.

Wi-Fi Direct is the software-based extension of standard Wi-Fi, which allows Wi-Fi devices to communicate directly without the need for an access point or router. The Wi-Fi adapter in the TV can simultaneously provide an Internet connection and also multiple Wi-Fi Direct connections to peripherals such as a TV remote or microphone.
