Datacard Group to Speak at Mobile and Contactless Payments 2012 in Australia

Presentation will focus on how financial institutions can effectively deploy an NFC-enabled mobile payments application without making major investments.

MINNETONKA, Minn.--()--Datacard Group, the world leader in secure ID and card personalization solutions, today announced that Sebastien Tormos, director of mobile solutions business development for Datacard Group, will be speaking at the Mobile and Contactless Payments 2012 conference taking place September 25-27, 2012 in Sydney, Australia.

“Mobile payments continues to be a highly anticipated trend that many decision makers, industry experts and key stakeholders within organizations are discussing”

The conference focuses on how organizations can embrace the latest mobile and contactless payments landscape and will feature presentations from various perspectives addressing strategies, the evolving payments ecosystem, industry trends, as well as applications and technologies that can help drive decisions and adoption.

The session that Tormos will be giving is titled “Easy NFC: How to Deploy Tap & Go Wallet Capabilities with MicroSD Secure Elements,” which is scheduled on Sept. 26th at 11:50 a.m. The presentation will walk attendees through the advantages of microSD technology as a secure element for deploying NFC programs, as well as how organizations can understand the role this plays within a collaborative mobile payments ecosystem.

“Mobile payments continues to be a highly anticipated trend that many decision makers, industry experts and key stakeholders within organizations are discussing,” said Tormos. “Given that more than 80 percent of smart phones today have a slot for a microSD card, financial institutions don’t have to wait to deploy mobile payments. They can easily capitalize on the growing NFC technology adoption by complementing their card programs without major infrastructure investments or changes to their existing processes. My goal in this presentation is to educate them on how to do this.”

Tormos has extensive international experience in product and business development. He has led numerous initiatives in Datacard Group, and has most recently been focused on the financial and mobile payments industry. Prior to joining Datacard Group, he helped pioneer the development of smart card solutions in the financial and telecom sectors in Europe.
