CARMICHAEL, Calif.--()--The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing public awareness of chiropractic care, will sponsor Ross M. Miller, M.D., M.P.H., Medical Executive, Cerner Corporation, as a speaker at the 2012 Institute for HealthCare Consumerism Forum West, September 6-7, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nev. On September 6, 2012, between 2:45 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., Dr. Miller will lead an F4CP sponsored workshop entitled, “Onsite Health Clinics: Break the Financial and Clinical Burdens of Musculoskeletal Conditions.” The workshop will host a discussion focused on evidence that confirms chiropractic services to be an advantageous component of onsite health clinics.
“Value of Chiropractic Services at Onsite Health Centers”
“As employers seek to offset rising costs and improve employee health, the latest industry trends point to providing an onsite clinic,” says Dr. Miller, who points out that Cerner Corporation has recently published a paper, entitled “Value of Chiropractic Services at Onsite Health Centers,” that confirms the inclusion of chiropractic yields advancement relative to healthcare utilization and improved functional status of musculoskeletal conditions. “By including services that facilitate improved musculoskeletal condition management and functional status within onsite clinics there is potential both for reduced direct and indirect costs, including absenteeism and productivity losses.”
Dr. Miller functions as the national medical director for Cerner’s employer-sponsored onsite primary and urgent care and occupational health centers with oversight of all clinical services, wellness programs, chronic condition management and benefit administration. Dr. Miller, who received his M.D. from the University of Southern California and M.P.H. from the University of California, Los Angeles, is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the healthcare industry, including medical and pharmacy management, outcomes research, managed care, quality improvement, and employer health services.
With over 25 years of experience in healthcare, F4CP representative, Laura Carabello, principal, CPR Communications, is pleased to have Dr. Miller introduce the topic of onsite clinics on behalf of the F4CP at the IHC Forum, stating, “Dr. Miller demonstrates upstanding credentials and experience in the onsite sector. The F4CP is privileged to have him present this research on its behalf to the highly influential group.”
The 2012 IHC Forum West is the only conference series that is 100 percent dedicated to innovative health and benefits management. Its array of educational sessions, advised by top healthcare and business professionals, will provide attendees with the tools and solutions to create a comprehensive, cost-effective healthcare consumerism plan that not only serves employee needs, but also helps to build a company’s economical foundation.
