ATLANTA--()--Digital Insurance (www.digitalinsurance.com), the nation's largest and most technologically advanced employee benefits-only agency, generated a $40,000 charitable contribution for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (www.choa.org) during its fourth annual DI Dash road race on August 25. Since the event’s inception, the Atlanta-based company has raised $130,000 for the healthcare system.
“Giving back to the communities where we operate brings deeper meaning to the work we do every day”
“We have always been proud of our efforts benefiting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, but this year my passion for supporting this organization intensified as I had the opportunity to witness its incredible work first-hand,” says Adam Bruckman, president and CEO of Digital Insurance. Bruckman coaches a local lacrosse team and one of the players was treated at the hospital over a seven-week period while recovering from a life-threatening head injury. “I visited him at Children's several times and saw the incredible talent and dedication of physicians, nurses and the entire organization,” he says. “While our company adopted the organization as our charity of choice several years ago, the relevance of our contributions has taken on even more meaning.”
About 500 people registered for the family friendly event, a certified, chip-timed Peachtree Road Race qualifier which began and ended in Marietta Square. Among the participants was Bret Hundredmark of Marietta, the injured lacrosse player who worked hard in rehab so he could join the activity. In addition to the runners, there was tremendous volunteer and corporate support for the fundraiser. Title sponsor UnitedHealthcare was joined by Platinum sponsors Aetna and Guardian, as well as Diamond sponsors Lincoln Financial, MetLife, Sun Life and UNUM. Gold sponsors included Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Berman, Fink & Van Horn, firstPRO, Humana, PNC Bank, Reliance Standard and Standard.
“Giving back to the communities where we operate brings deeper meaning to the work we do every day,” says Bruckman. “Our employees are dedicated to this organization and the positive impact it has on the lives of children through patient care, research and education.”
