CUPERTINO, Calif.--(Interra Systems, a global leader in Media Quality and Compliance products, is pleased to introduce Vega HEVC Analyzer at IBC 2012 in Amsterdam. Vega HEVC Analyzer is the latest addition to the industry-leading Vega Media Analyzer platform.)--
High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), a successor to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, is a new video compression standard developed jointly by ISO/IEC Moving Pictures Experts Group and ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group. HEVC promises dramatic improvement in compression ratio and picture quality as compared to the H.264 standard. Some of the markets, such as Semiconductor, Smart Devices, HD Video communications, OTT, and Streaming Media are expected to be the prime users of this technology.
“Video compression codecs are complex, and HEVC is a particularly complex codec. As a forerunner in compression analysis technology, Interra Systems has always offered the first and the best solution for video codec analysis. In sync with media market's expectation from HEVC, Vega HEVC Analyzer enables markets involved in creating and distributing HEVC video to adopt a powerful debug environment to deliver standards compliant HEVC products and services. Vega HEVC analyzer will help these markets improve quality of their HEVC offerings and expedite time to market,” said Anupama Anantharaman, Director Business Development & Marketing at Interra Systems.
Interra’s Vega HEVC is a file-based media analyzer that brings complex HEVC information in simple visuals, which make analysis of the coded information easy, intuitive, and comprehensive. Vega HEVC features include complete parsing and decoding, frame by frame navigation, analytical graphs, H.264 and HEVC encoding comparison, powerful reporting, error messages at all structural levels, and high-performance analysis.
