ST. LOUIS & MORRISVILLE, N.C.--()--LDM Group, LLC (LDM), a leading provider of behavior based health management programs, announced at the NACDS Pharmacy & Technology Conference last week that it has reached a significant partnership agreement with Polyglot Systems, Inc. (PGSI), a market leader in providing limited-English proficient (LEP) patients consumer medication information.
“Meducation content can address language barriers by providing instructions that are easy to understand in the patients’ native language. However, that is only half the battle. The information must be delivered to patients efficiently and without interruption of the healthcare professionals’ workflow; which is exactly what LDM’s solutions enable”
Under the partnership, LDM will provide PGSI’s consumer medication information through its successful CarePoints® and ScriptGuide® information for your health® messaging system at the point-of-care.
PGSI’s award-winning Meducation® content will be available in several languages and includes easy to understand graphics and educational information enabling the patient to understand what their medication is for and how to take it correctly.
This partnership will allow for the production of Meducation content to be integrated into the healthcare professional’s workflow. By integrating Meducation into the LDM platforms, patients can be presented with medication information they can understand, seamlessly in the healthcare professional’s workflow.
With Meducation, patients and healthcare providers will be provided access to medication instructions that are written at a 5th to 6th grade reading level in any of over twelve languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Korean, Haitian Creole, Italian, French, Arabic, Russian, Bengali, and Polish and others.
“Poor medication adherence has been associated with over 100,000 deaths and $290 billion additional healthcare costs annually. Providing information in multi-lingual, plain-language formats are an important step in overcoming adherence barriers,” said Sims Preston, Polyglot Systems’ CEO.
“Meducation content can address language barriers by providing instructions that are easy to understand in the patients’ native language. However, that is only half the battle. The information must be delivered to patients efficiently and without interruption of the healthcare professionals’ workflow; which is exactly what LDM’s solutions enable,” said Joe Buse, LDM Group’s Senior Vice President, Innovation and New Product Commercialization.
