LONDON--()--The UK electronic systems trade body, NMI has announced its 2012 awards are open for entries. In its tenth year, the annual programme celebrates organisations, individuals and practices that are conducive to a healthy and vibrant industry and is open to all electronic system firms with activity in the UK and Ireland.

The awards reflect the evolving expertise of the British and Irish electronics industry and highlight skills, manufacturing and innovation with an emphasis on efficient design and power electronics. With this in mind, NMI has launched the new Innovation In Power Electronics award.

Continuing NMI’s tradition of ‘debate then celebrate’, the black-tie awards gala and dinner will take place after the annual Industry Summit. Both will take place on the 15th of November at the prestigious central London hotel, the Radisson Blu Portman.
“This has been a big year for us and the industry so there’s plenty to celebrate,” said Derek Boyd, CEO of NMI. “Landmarks such as the LED’s 50th anniversary are happening, countless advances have come from UK firms, and with the upcoming ESCO Report and the implementation of the Power Electronics Strategy, we’re making great advances in promoting the industry to government to influence policy and create a more nurturing environment for the community”
