PROVO, Utah--()--Vivint, the largest home automation services company in North America, is making homes safer by giving parents home automation tools to prevent child accidents.
“If I get a little anxiety or worried about leaving my newborns home with a baby sitter, Vivint’s live video feeds allow me to check in anytime and make sure they are all right.”
Accidental home injury deaths claim the lives of thousands of children each year in the United States. Vivint reminds parents that September is National Child Safety Month and that most child accidents are preventable.
“Many of us believe our homes are fortresses of comfort and safety,” said Todd Pedersen, CEO of Vivint. “In reality, the typical American home is the second most likely place, behind automobiles, where child accidents are likely to occur. With the Vivint Home Automation System, families have an extra layer of protection to assist with keeping children safe and out of harm's way.”
The Vivint Home Automation solution includes live video feeds of a home that can be viewed from a smart-phone or computer. In addition, Vivint’s two-way voice feature allows its central monitoring station operators to listen and talk to homeowners when a signal is received, ensuring that the proper emergency response personnel are dispatched as soon as possible.
Miranda Ledgewood of Fort Worth, Texas, said the Vivint Home Automation system includes sensors that alert her when medicine or kitchen cabinets are opened.
“I have two kids, a preschooler who knows how to open childproof latches and one who is almost crawling,” Ledgewood said. “When it comes to protecting them from harmful chemicals and prescriptions, the Vivint Home Automation system adds a new level of safety and security.”
With Vivint, parents can remotely control locks, alarms, motion detectors, and a variety of sensors using a smart phone or computer. Vivint’s free app (iPhone, Blackberry, and Android are all supported) also remotely arms and disarms the Vivint system.
Brooke Sergent, a new mother in Telford, Tenn., said the Vivint system gives her peace of mind by allowing her to always know what’s going on at home. “If I get a little anxiety or worried about leaving my newborns home with a baby sitter, Vivint’s live video feeds allow me to check in anytime and make sure they are all right.”
With a one-time activation fee, plus a monthly monitoring charge, Vivint’s Home Automation package provides simple, yet affordable, home management. The Vivint system can manage thermostats, lighting features, and small appliances. Customers can also add or subtract products to create a unique package that meets the needs of their homes, families, and life styles.
