CHARLESTON, S.C.--()--SCRA today announced its Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) with Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Atlantic. SCRA will leverage its knowledge and relationships to identify small businesses and educational institutions and will work with SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic to transfer technologies with the goal to improve the economic, environmental and social well-being of the US in a global economy by taking advantage of innovation developed with tax payer money in the Federal Labs.
“Through intellectual property commercialization, we can help the US Navy ensure high returns-on-investment for their research dollars, which will ultimately strengthen our nation’s industrial base. We look forward to a productive and successful partnership with SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic.”
The partnership will combine SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic’s ability to generate ground-breaking technology with SCRA’s ability to help entrepreneurs form successful technology companies, ultimately bringing technology and intellectual property generated and developed by SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic researchers and engineers to the commercial market. The Navy is a strong proponent for transferring this intellectual property into widespread use within the United States’ industrial base.
“This partnership will serve as a model for growing the Knowledge Economy at both the state and national level,” said SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney. “Through intellectual property commercialization, we can help the US Navy ensure high returns-on-investment for their research dollars, which will ultimately strengthen our nation’s industrial base. We look forward to a productive and successful partnership with SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic.”
