GENEVA--()--Stromasys is pleased to announce a change in its management and corporate structure to support its growth and development, maintaining its leadership in classic system virtualization, which provides a rapid and smooth transition of critical legacy applications to the modern virtual data center. With the upcoming retirement of our CEO Jean-Paul Bergmans, working from our Geneva offices, Stromasys has appointed as of October 1, 2012 Ling W. Chang as its new CEO, established in New York.
Ling W. Chang has an impressive track record in the IT industry, with over 13 years in Compaq / HP where she was responsible for the Enterprise Group’s $320M Integration and Technical Services line-of-business in the Americas in her recent role. She also worked many years in IBM in both engineering and account management functions, and in direct sales in Computer Associates. Ling obtained in 1989 an MS in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, and completed IBM's President Class business program and executive education from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Locating Stromasys' new CEO in the heart of world's most dynamic business region brings many new opportunities, as we move closer to many large corporations and government organizations that we count for many years as customers. This becomes even more important in a dire economy, where large scale data center modernization necessitates tangible cost savings, which Stromasys' products are designed to accelerate without the cost and time of lengthy migration projects.
According to Robert Boers, Chairman and Founder of Stromasys, “Starting from an unknown niche market 10 years ago, our CHARON® branded virtual VAX and Alpha products have received wide acceptance. We offer dramatic cost savings by enabling older applications, data, databases, and even product licenses to work seamlessly on new, industry standard computer systems without any modification. With our increasing focus on direct, management level sales, Ling is very well qualified to grow our company, as her organization at HP partnered with Stromasys to increase our mutual share of customers for several years. We thank Jean-Paul for his contributions as COO and CEO over the last years, which has seen a strong growth in sales as well as new products that are about to enter the market. Jean-Paul will assist Ling with the transition and remain on the board of Stromasys.”
Ling W. Chang commented, “Stromasys’ market-proven technologies are more than an extension of the legacy systems; they offer a bridge to the future where customers can leverage the cost savings for new initiatives such as cloud services, big data, etc. to drive better business outcome. It’s an exciting time to join Stromasys as it embarks on a higher-growth journey.”
