NEW YORK--()--Citi® Global Consumer Chief Marketing and Internet Officer Michelle Peluso today was appointed to the new Consumer Advisory Board of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). CFPB Director Rich Cordray announced the composition of the 25-member board today after a seven-month selection process. The CFPB created the Board of consumer experts from outside the federal government to provide advice to CFPB leadership on a broad range of consumer financial issues and emerging market trends.

Carey. “Michelle has done a remarkable job enhancing the customer experience at Citi and harnessing technology to bring better solutions to customers and companies, and I am confident she will bring that expertise to this important role and help the CFPB achieve its mission.”

The CFPB Consumer Advisory Board was authorized by Congress through the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010.
In her role as Citi’s Global Consumer Chief Marketing and Internet Officer, Peluso is charged with helping monitor and improve the Citi Global Consumer Bank customer experience. She oversees the Global Consumer Bank’s marketing and digital teams, including all of its online and mobile banking channels and initiatives. She developed and oversees the organization’s social media listening and servicing tools.
Prior to joining Citi in 2009, Peluso was CEO of Travelocity from 2003 to 2009. Previously, she served as a White House Fellow and Senior Advisor to Labor Secretary Alexis Herman. She has served on the Board of Directors for Open Table and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Gilt Groupe. Peluso received her master’s degree in economics, philosophy and politics from Pembroke College at Oxford University where she was a Thoroun Scholar, and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. She lives in New York with her husband, Marc, and their two children, Auden Grace and Cole Hudson.
