PHILADELPHIA--()--The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) will hold an important symposium, "Sustainable Business Models: Issues & Trends Facing Visual Artists," on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at The TimesCenter in New York. Thought leaders will discuss the impact of shifts in the industry, and creative approaches to compensation that will lead to sustainable business models for imaging professionals. “Sustainable Business Models: Issues & Trends Facing Visual Artists”
There will be three panel discussions during the day. The morning sessions will be moderated by Jay Kinghorn and are: A Candid Discussion with Working Pros with panelists Andy Batt and Therese Gietler -Andy Batt Studio, Ron Haviv - VII, and Gail Mooney - Kelly Mooney Productions; and Current Distribution Models that Offer Compensation to Creators with panelists Liz Miller-Gershfeld- Energy BBDO, Allen Murabayashi - PhotoShelter, and Susan White -Vanity Fair.
The afternoon presentation is entitled The Challenge: Sustainable and Ongoing Creator Compensation. Moderated by Richard Dale Kelly, the panelists are Kevin Fitzgerald - Copyright Licensing Agency, Rob Haggart - A Photo Editor, Henry Oh - Transpecific Media and Stephen Mayes - VII.
