A+ School Rewards Return to Stop & Shop

Customers can help earn money for local schools by shopping with their Stop & Shop card as part of this simple school fundraiser

QUINCY, Mass. & PURCHASE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With another school year now underway, don’t forget to add signing up for Stop & Shop’s A+ School Rewards to your grocery list! Customers are encouraged once again to sign up for the simple school fundraiser and designate up to two local schools in their community to earn A+ School Rewards. Since the program launched in 2009, more than $4 million has been donated to local schools throughout participating markets. In the 2012-2013 school year, the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC will donate $2.5 million through the program.

“Schools are important to our customers and families are always looking for easy ways to raise money. Stop & Shop’s A+ School Rewards is simple: customers designate schools on their Stop & Shop cards, earn points when they shop with their card in stores or at peapod.com, and at the end of the year, schools receive money,” said Suzi Robinson, spokesperson for Stop & Shop New England Division. “We want to make giving back effortless for our customers.”

Beginning Oct. 5 and continuing through March 28, Stop & Shop customers can help local schools earn cash for technology, scholarship programs, summer programs, field trips, playgrounds and other educational needs. There is no restriction on what schools can do with their A+ School Rewards, which are accrued with each purchase a customer makes using his or her Stop & Shop card. Points can also accrue when shopping with a Stop & Shop card on peapod.com. The top earning schools last year were St. Charles School in Staten Island, N.Y., who received more than $22,900, and Amherst Regional High School in Amherst, Mass. who received more than $21,300.

To participate in the program, customers must sign up and designate their chosen school(s) now at www.stopandshop.com. Shoppers can designate up to two schools to benefit from the program and are required to re-designate each year. Participants are encouraged to sign up or re-designate as soon as possible so their chosen schools can begin earning points when the program begins in October. Beginning in November, current school totals can be found on the A+ website at www.stopandshop.com/aplus.
