Associa Companies Host 5th Annual Vendor Fair Benefitting Associa Cares

CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Associa companies Community Management Corporation (CMC), Legum & Norman, Inc. (L&N) and Select Community Services (SCS) recently hosted the 5^th Annual Vendor Fair benefitting Associa Cares, the philanthropic arm of Associa, Monday, September 10, 2012.

“This was a tremendous opportunity for our vendors, sponsors and managers to network, while having fun and ultimately helping raise money for a great cause.”

The Annual Vendor Fair featured vendors and sponsors networking by “speed-dating” their way around The National Conference Center in Leesburg, Virginia. The event raised $242,000, and, combined with money raised during all five years, reached just under the $1 million mark.

“We could not be more pleased that 104 vendors attended the 5^th Annual Vendor Fair. Not only did they get an opportunity to meet with community managers, but they were a part of something bigger,” said CMC’s Director of Corporate Services Steve Philbin. “This was a tremendous opportunity for our vendors, sponsors and managers to network, while having fun and ultimately helping raise money for a great cause.”

Associa Cares relies on volunteers from national and local committees to help identify people in both Associa and non-Associa managed communities affected by tragedies. In the 2011 fiscal year, Associa Cares donated $36,000 to the Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Maryland areas.

“Too often, communities across the United States experience a traumatic event or crisis, such as a natural disaster,” said Associa President and CEO John Carona. “When so much is lost, it’s hard for families to know what to do and where to begin. That is why we created Associa Cares – to help victims of natural or man-made disasters get back on their feet again.”
