STAMFORD, Conn.--()--Law firm McCarter & English LLP announced today that its Stamford, CT office has been designated as LEED® Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute. LEED is the nation’s preeminent building ratings system for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
“We expanded our Stamford office into a new space”
This is the second of McCarter’s seven northeast regional offices that has received LEED certification. The firm’s Newark office was awarded LEED Gold and Silver certifications in February.
“We expanded our Stamford office into a new space,” said Stamford Managing Partner, Basam E. Nabulsi. “With the direction and guidance of our construction practice and office management services, we wanted to make sure that we were following the same guidelines that were established for our green office space in Newark. Continuing these sustainability efforts allows us to do our part to help the environment where we live and also provides a healthier workspace for our employees.”
McCarter & English achieved LEED Certification for implementing environmental-friendly strategies such as water efficiency fixtures, energy saving office equipment, participating in a renewable energy certification program, and by diverting more than 75% of its construction waste, among other sustainability initiatives. By using less energy and water, LEED Certified buildings save money for families, businesses and taxpayers; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and contribute to a healthier environment for residents, workers and the larger community.
Gensler, a global architecture, design, planning and consulting firm, led the renovation of both the firm’s Stamford and Newark offices.
