Local Pensacola School Wins $10,000 and a Visit from the Power Rangers

Saban’s Power Rangers Lead Assembly at Brentwood Elementary School with Check Presentation & Power Moves

PENSACOLA, Fla.--()--Go Go Brentwood Elementary! Today Saban’s Power Rangers presented a $10,000 donation to Principal Brian Alaback of Brentwood Elementary School, as the winner of the National “What emPOWERs You?” Power Rangers emPOWER Teachers Sweepstakes. During a school assembly, the Power Rangers energized the crowd of more than 500 students and teachers with ”Ranger Training” exercises and inspiration to eat right and “Train like a Ranger!”

“This contest was the perfect opportunity to engage teachers, students, and parents across the country in our Power Rangers emPOWER program.”

The National “What emPOWERs You?” Teachers Sweepstakes was part of the Power Rangers in-school program supporting exercise and healthy eating for kids in grades 1-3 nationwide. Materials supporting healthy choices were distributed to more than 130,000 teachers nationally through printed and online distribution. As part of the program, teachers were asked: How do they plan to reinforce healthy choices in the classroom? The winning teacher, Rita Fowler, answered this question about her kindergarten class: “Kindergarten is a great place to start supporting healthy eating and exercise for kids. I talk to my class regularly about healthy eating and encourage active play. The Power Rangers emPOWER program gives me great tools to help inspire my kids to get active and move more.”
