WALTHAM, Mass.--()--B4 Consulting®, helping companies grow with SAP® software, services and support, today announced the successful go-live implementation of the SAP Commercial Real Estate application at The Minto Group’s multi-family residential business (“Minto Properties”). The SAP solution, a fully integrated platform for real estate life cycle management, manages all business processes from investment planning to leasing to space management, maintenance and repair. SAP Commercial Real Estate in use at Minto Properties supports 700 employees and 400+ end-users who manage a 3 million-square-foot commercial portfolio and 15,000 multi-residential units across Ontario. The Minto Properties go-live implementation is part of a phased and enterprise-wide adoption of SAP Commercial Real Estate, which will give The Minto Group a single business application for all its business activities.
“Our go-lives have gone very smoothly due to a lot of hard work and a high degree of collaboration with B4 Consulting, which brings to the table a team of experts with SAP domain knowledge”
“Minto is a diversified real estate company with an integrated business model that spans commercial, real estate and homebuilding,” said Klaus Schottenhamel, president and CEO of B4 Consulting. “Their vision for a single and integrated platform will minimize the number of systems and interfaces required to bring together all aspects of their business. SAP Commercial Real Estate enables Minto to realize that goal, and as their implementation partner, B4 Consulting helps Minto execute on that vision, which will enable them to double their capacity by 2016,” continued Schottenhamel.
Crawl-Walk-Run Implementation Approach
The Minto Properties go-live is “our fourth go-live project involving SAP solutions, and B4 Consulting has worked with us every step of the way,” said Michael Waters, president of Minto Communities who also served as the executive sponsor for the SAP project. “They’ve helped us to take an effective ‘crawl-walk-run’ approach in our SAP implementation in which we are incrementally integrating all parts of our business on to SAP solutions so that we can conduct our business without disruptions and incorporate lessons learned to accelerate each consecutive go-live project.”
Go-live implementations to date at the Minto Group have included Minto Corporate Services, Minto’s commercial property portfolio, Customer Relationship Management, and the most recent Minto Properties multi-family residential portfolio. “Our go-lives have gone very smoothly due to a lot of hard work and a high degree of collaboration with B4 Consulting, which brings to the table a team of experts with SAP domain knowledge,” continued Waters. “We’ve been able to replace legacy systems and consolidate a myriad of systems including five or six general ledgers into one system. More importantly, customer service and financial data are now at our fingertips and enable us to spend more time helping customers and analyzing our rental portfolio, and much less time pulling information together from many different sources.”
Minto will be implementing the new SAP Common Area Maintenance (CAM) Expense Recovery application, which provides an automated and efficient way to accurately charge tenants for common area and metered expenses such as electric, water and gas consumption.
“Minto’s adoption of the SAP Commercial Real Estate application with SAP CAM Expense Recovery represents a new breed of forward-thinking real estate companies that have aggressive growth plans and are laying a foundation for that growth with SAP solutions,” noted Henry Bailey, vice president of Industry Business Solutions at SAP America, Inc. “Growth brings a lot of data, and Minto can effectively manage that data and more with an integrated platform for functionality spanning finance, leasing, CRM, business analytics and mobility.”
